In Emilee's opinion:

I knew I was going to love The Highway Rat before I even saw it or read the book. All of the children's books written by Julia Donaldson are brilliant and the illustrations by Axel Scheffler are beautiful. Julia has simple yet excellent ideas in all of her stories. And there is always a moral to the story.

The Highway Rat was about a rat who loves sweets so he searches for treats to steal. He loves his sweets so much he doesn't even share with a bee. But, he always lets the animals know who is in charge, "I am the rat of the highway and this... belongs to me." Most of the food that the animals have are revolting to him but that doesn't stop him from taking them. There were no please or thank yous and he learned a viable lesson in the end. The best part was spotting a Gruffalo in the 30 minute film so be sure to keep your eyes out for it. Apparently, a Gruffalo appears in all of the books. Overall, it was fantastic and the animation was extraordinarily good. Well done!
