Fresh Courage Take by Dean Hughes {Come to Zion series} & a Giveaway!

It’s time for book three in the Come to Zion series! FRESH COURAGE TAKE by Dean Hughes releases on May 14th.

PAGES: 422

About:
The United States turned a blind eye when the Mormons were driven from Missouri to Illinois and finally out of the country altogether. How can the government—and Brigham Young—now be asking the Mormons to come up with 500 able-bodied soldiers to assist in the war with Mexico? And how can Will Lewis be asked to join the Mormon Battalion when it means leaving Liz and their two little boys on their own in the wilderness? How many sacrifices will be required in order for the Saints to create Zion?
And in modern-day Nauvoo, Jeff and Abby Lewis are facing challenges of their own. Juggling family priorities, professional responsibilities, and Church callings becomes an almost impossible feat. It is clear that building Zion in the latter days will require sacrifices, just as it did in the time of Jeff's ancestors.
In this concluding volume of the Come to Zion trilogy, beloved novelist Dean Hughes provides a unique perspective on the struggles and sacrifices—and ultimate joy—of faithful Saints in any generation.

In Emilee's opinion:

Dean Hughes is a brilliant writer. His attention to detail was exquisite and you could tell he did his research on Nauvoo. I especially loved the Preface and Author's Note. He gave a review of the first two books and gave an explanation about Fresh Courage Take.  I wish I could interview Hughes, however, I probably would be tongue tied if I had the opportunity.

I loved reading more about Will and Liz as well as Jeff and Abby. Throughout history, people have experienced a lot of challenges and trials. It was eye opening to read about their sacrifices and challenges. I could picture Nauvoo and the characters in the book as I read.

It was also neat to read about Brigham Young and the way he helped the Saints across the plains.

If you haven't read the first two books in the Come to Zion series, I definitely recommend before you start the third. Fresh Courage Take had a wonderful ending and you won't be disappointed with the author's take on historical church fiction.
