One crisp, winter morning, a young boy wakes up to find a thick blanket of snow has covered the ground as far as the eye can see.  Filled with excitement, the boy decides to build a snowman using a tangerine for his nose, coal for his buttons and eyes, and tops him off with a hat and scarf.  Later that night, at the stroke of midnight, the snowman comes to life!  The young boy and the snowman embark on a magical adventure of discovery where the snowman explores the young boy’s world and in return he takes him flying to his home in the North Pole.  Based on Raymond Briggs’ book, The Snowman is a family classic for generations to enjoy.

 In Cassie's opinion:

The Snowman DVD is a charming and kid friendly movie that appeals to the youngest children to adults. The movie is wordless but the music is captivating. My six-year-old daughter and I watched the movie and loved it. I like how the movie is wordless so that children watching are able to figure out and imagine what is going on throughout the film. I recommend this movie for families to watch throughout the holiday and winter season.

A Very Awesome Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Holiday Show!

Join DJ Lance Rock, Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Plex and Toodee as they dance, sing and decorate the tree to prepare for the arrival of Santa Claus! Filmed live at New York City's The Beacon Theatre, celebrate the season with the colorful cast of characters singing their hits, including "It's Wintertime," "Every Snowflake's Different, Just Like You" and a holiday version of everyone's favorite "Party in my Tummy!” The DVD includes special appearances by superstar Leslie Hall and the one and only Santa Claus! 

In Cassie's opinion:

 The Yo Gabba Gabba holiday show in my opinion is for younger children. The colorful characters are inviting and very entertaining. I felt like the production was very interactive and a great quality show. There is a special appearance by Santa Claus and superstar Leslie Hall which is fun for children to see. Great for children who regularly watch the show and children who love to sing and dance. I felt like it would be a great movie to watch during the holiday season.

 

Octonauts: The Very Vegimal Christmas

On this very merry DVD, join the Octonauts as they celebrate the holidays! The Vegimals’ plans for a Christmas feast aboard the Octopod are interrupted when the Octonauts become entangled in a gigantic blob of sea snot! The holiday excitement continues when the Octonauts travel to Professor Inkling’s childhood home, an undersea mountain, but soon discover that a rockslide has endangered the local creatures, including Inkling’s nephew, Squirt!  Can the Octonauts rescue the creatures and save Christmas in time?

In Emilee's opinion:

Great film! My son, Eli, loved it and pretty much watches it everyday. He loves Octonauts so if you are already a fan, you will love The Very Vegimal Christmas DVD. Very entertaining and educational. The songs were delightful and it seemed that the Octonauts always have a great time serving and rescuing others. They really are a great example to families and children.

Caillou’s Holiday Movie

When winter comes to Caillou's house, this curious 4-year-old tackles all kinds of big boy activities like helping Daddy shovel snow, making holiday presents for his family and even discovering how other little boys and girls around the world celebrate the season!  Filled with magical moments seen through a small child's eyes, this delightful story will enchant your entire family.

In Emilee's opinion:

This movie was perfect for my four year old and had a great message. Okay, so the parents seemed perfect in the way they treated their family. I felt that the parents were great examples to all of us who are trying to raise a family in today's society. I loved all of the things Caillou was able to learn in this movie. It was delightful and fun for the entire family. I asked my son what he liked the best about the movie and he said, "EVERYTHING." I definitely recommend Caillou's Holiday Movie especially if you are familiar with the show.
