My Stitch Fix Review: #1

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of shopping for clothes and I've had my eye on Stitch Fix for quite awhile. So, I met a friend here in Arizona who also tried it and had a great experience. She offered to give me $25 to try it and she'll also get $25 so I thought...well, why not? Merry Christmas to me!

I also love getting mail so it was fun to receive a day after we returned from Utah. I was so excited that it came...I ran to the mailbox in my pj's. Yep!

And now, I'm obsessed so I thought I would share my thoughts here on the website in case you were interested in trying it out as well...Anyone who goes through my site will also get $25 and believe me...it is worth it.

What is Stitch Fix?

Stitch Fix is an online styling service that delivers a truly personalized shopping experience, for you and your family. Fill out your Style Profile and a Personal Stylist will handpick pieces to fit your tastes, needs and budget—and mail them right to your door. Each box contains a curated selection of clothing, shoes and accessories for you to try on at home. Simply keep the items you  love and send back the rest in a prepaid USPS envelope. Shipping and returns are always free—even for exchanges!

How does it work?

1. Fill out the Style Profile

First, you’ll need to complete a Style Profile for yourself or a child. This information will help your Stylist understand the sizes and styles you’re looking for, as well as your ideal price range. Completing a profile takes about 10-15 minutes.

2. Pick the date you’d like to receive your shipment

Choose your preferred delivery date from the calendar. At the time your Stylist selects your items, you’ll be charged a $20 styling fee. That $20 will be applied as a credit toward anything you keep from your shipment.

3. Try everything on from the comfort of home

We encourage you to try on everything in the box, especially since you never know what will look good or what you might like. Pair items from your shipment with clothing and accessories you already own to discover what looks good together before you decide to buy them. Learn more about the benefits of working with a personal stylist.

4. Buy what you like and return the rest

  • Take up to three days to decide what you want to buy and what to send back. You’ll only be charged for the items you choose to keep when you check out online or through the free Stitch Fix app.
  • Check out by signing into your account and selecting the items you’re keeping, returning (if available), or exchanging. We will then charge you for any items you’ve decided to keep. The $20 styling fee will automatically be applied as credit toward any items you purchase. If you buy everything, you receive a 25% discount off the entire box!
  • Easily return the items you don't want in the prepaid envelope and drop it into any USPS mailbox. Enjoy free shipping both ways as a benefit of using our service.

5. Tell us what you think

Remember to give us feedback on the items you received. Telling us what you liked, didn’t like and why helps your Stylist know what to send in future Fix deliveries. Our women's blog and men's blog offer tips on how to communicate with your Stylist.

If you’ve set up recurring shipments we'll automatically schedule the delivery date for your next Fix shipment. You can always choose an alternative date if needed or stop regularly scheduled shipments at any time.

Stitch Fix does not require a membership fee or a monthly subscription.

So...here is my experience with my first Stitch Fix box...

Here is the cute box the clothes were sent in

#1 TOMS Classic Alpargata Novelty Felt FlatSIZE: 8.5 $60 KEPT

First, I tried on the Tom's shoes which were cute and fuzzy and came in a darling bag. They are so comfy and I've been dying for some Toms so my stylist really paid attention to the "Your note to your personal stylist." I'll be using the note each time for my stylist to really know what to include so I won't be wasting their time or mine. It was such a fun surprise to get these cool shoes and of course I KEPT them.

#2 JUST BLACKGrace High Rise Super Skinny JeanSIZE: 4 $78 KEPT

I needed a new pair of jeans and these fit perfectly. And the price was similar to Banana Republic (a store I used to shop at). I tried on the jeans and used a belt to keep them up. I may try a different size but I'm afraid if I do, they may not fit so I'll stick with a size 4. They worked!

#3 PINK CLOVER Sherri Brushed Cowl Neck Knit Top SIZE: S $44 KEPT

I love this knit top! I love the sleeves, pockets, color and it is nice and toasty. Arizona is actually pretty cold right now so it is perfect. If you find the right color for yourself...stick with it.

And it goes well with the jeans and shoes! Perfect.

#4 MIX BY 41 HAWTHORN Corinna Brushed Dolman Knit TopSIZE: S $38 KEPT

This knit top is so soft. It is thinner so I'll be able to wear it longer here in Arizona. I love it, love it, love it. You can't go wrong with stripes. Did I mention how soft it is?

The arm lengths are amazing too. I was cold today in Chick Fil A but it is a beautiful fit.

#5 STACCATO Scandya Plaid Cardigan SIZE: S $48 KEPT

This cardigan made me feel like "THE BOSS." Yep, I felt so good in it. The sleeves are long which I love. The only problem is that it snags easily so basically wear it on a date, not with kids. I wore it to Fry's (yep, that is my hangout with my family) and I felt like a million bucks. I did snag it which made me super sad so hopefully I won't run into the same fabric in future stitches. I did keep it because I loved it.

I also loved that my stylist included a personal note and style cards with two outfit suggestions for each item. Stitch Fix was perfect for me and I loved everything that was sent to me. It felt like Christmas all over again. My stylist paid attention to my notes and sent me colors that look amazing on me.

I've actually scheduled my stitch fixes to come every three months and I'm excited to see Stitch Fix #2. I may change it to every other month so I could get one during my birthday month (May). Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait for the next box to come to my home where I can try on clothes in my home.
